Unified RAD
Unified RAD is a coalition of property owners, residents, business owners, and artists in Asheville's River Arts District that are focused on short-term reactivation, medium-term rebuilding, and long-term vision building in a way that balances the economy, environment, and creative spirit in the district.
The Unified RAD coalition of stakeholders, inspired by the values of Artistic Creativity, Economic Vitality, and Environmental Stewardship, are committed to establishing a cohesive and balanced vision for Asheville’s River Arts District (RAD) as:
- The nation’s cultural epicenter for the creative arts where Western North Carolina locals and visitors from across the world can create, experience, and purchase art.
- A thriving creative community that attracts and inspires a diverse mix of artists, residents, and independent businesses.
- A model of innovative urban design in the floodplain, showcasing green infrastructure stormwater management, flood zone activation, and disaster resiliency.
